Regulatory Compliance
All bulk SMS operations in Tanzania are regulated by TCRA (Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority). Sakura SMS is fully TCRA-compliant.
Key TCRA Rules
- Sender ID Registration: All alpha-numeric sender IDs must be registered with the network operators through TCRA
- Opt-Out: Every promotional message must include an opt-out mechanism
- Time Restrictions: Promotional messages should not be sent between 9 PM and 6 AM
- Content Standards: Messages must not contain misleading, fraudulent, or offensive content
- Data Protection: Customer data must be handled according to Tanzania's data protection regulations
KYC Requirements
- All bulk SMS accounts must complete Know Your Customer (KYC) verification
- Required: TIN, Business License, Director ID
- Unverified accounts: Limited to 50 SMS per day
