Understanding Delivery Reports (DLR)
How to read delivery reports and what each status means.
Real-Time Delivery Tracking
Every SMS sent through Sakura SMS is tracked with real-time Delivery Reports (DLR). Here's how to interpret them.
Status Definitions
- SENT — Message dispatched to the carrier network
- DELIVERED — Confirmed received by the recipient's phone
- FAILED — Message could not be delivered (invalid number, network error, blocked)
- PENDING — Waiting for carrier confirmation (may take up to 48 hours)
- EXPIRED — Carrier could not deliver within the retry window (usually 24-48 hours)
Viewing Reports
Navigate to History in the sidebar. Click any campaign to see the detailed breakdown per recipient.
Common Failure Reasons
- Invalid Number — Number does not exist on any network
- Phone Off — Recipient's phone is powered off or out of range
- Blocked — Recipient has blocked SMS from your sender ID
- Network Congestion — Carrier queue full, retry later
- Spam Filter — Message flagged by carrier anti-spam systems
