Why Aren't My Messages Delivering?
Here are the most common delivery issues and how to resolve them.
1. Messages Stuck in "PENDING"
- Cause: Carrier network congestion or recipient phone is off
- Fix: Wait up to 48 hours. The carrier will retry delivery automatically.
2. High Failure Rate
- Cause: Outdated contact list with many invalid numbers
- Fix: Clean your contact list. Remove numbers that consistently fail.
3. Messages Flagged as Spam
- Cause: Sending identical messages to large groups without personalization
- Fix: Use merge variables like
{name}. Avoid ALL CAPS and excessive punctuation.
4. Sender ID Not Showing
- Cause: Sender ID not approved on all networks, or using numeric fallback
- Fix: Check your sender ID status in Settings. Some networks take 3-5 days to approve.
5. International SMS Not Delivering
- Cause: International routing not enabled or incorrect number format
- Fix: Ensure numbers include country code (e.g., 254 for Kenya). International SMS costs 80 TZS/msg.
