Your First 10 Minutes on Sakura SMS

This walkthrough takes you from sign-up to sending your first message. Follow each step in order and you'll be ready to go in minutes.

Step 1: Create Your Account

Visit sms.sakuragroup.co.tz/register and fill in your details:

  • Full Name — Your name as it appears on business documents
  • Email — Used for login, billing alerts, and campaign reports
  • Password — Minimum 8 characters with a mix of letters and numbers
  • Phone Number — A Tanzanian mobile number for OTP verification

Step 2: Complete Company Information

After email verification, you'll land on the onboarding wizard. Provide:

  • Company Name — Must match your BRELA registration exactly
  • TIN Number — Your Tanzania Revenue Authority tax ID
  • Industry — Select from the dropdown (e.g., Finance, Retail, NGO)
  • Company Size — Helps us recommend the right plan

Step 3: Choose Your Channels

Select which messaging channels you want to activate:

  • SMS — Enabled by default for all accounts
  • WhatsApp Business — Requires a Meta Business account (can be set up later)
  • Unified Inbox — Consolidates all replies into one view

Step 4: Understand TCRA Sender ID Rules

The wizard explains Tanzania's sender ID regulations. Key points:

  • Alphanumeric sender IDs (your brand name) require TCRA approval
  • Processing takes 3-5 business days per network
  • You can use a numeric sender while waiting for approval

Step 5: Review Credit Rates

View the per-SMS pricing for each network (Vodacom, Tigo, Airtel, Halotel). Rates vary by volume tier.

Step 6: Set Email Preferences

Choose which notifications you want: billing alerts, campaign delivery reports, weekly usage digest, and product updates.

Step 7: Submit for Approval

Your account is reviewed by our team. Typical approval time is 2-4 hours during business days. You'll receive an email and SMS when approved.

Step 8: Complete KYC (Optional but Recommended)

Upload your business documents to unlock unlimited sending. Without KYC, you're limited to 50 SMS/day.

Quick Start: While waiting for approval, explore the dashboard, import your contacts, and draft your first campaign template. You'll be ready to send the moment your account is activated.
